ā€œSheila, what do you want to be when you grow up?ā€

ā€œAn artistā€

When I was 5 years old my brother interviewed me on his new tape recorder.  After I stated my name in the best shake-n-bake southern accent you ever heard, he asked me the question all kids are asked at some point. ā€œWhat do you want to be when you grow up?ā€

Art has manifested itself in so many ways throughout my lifetime.  From decorating my dollhouse to running a non-profit that provided interior design transformations for families in crisis to event planning, being a partner in an art gallery to now creating behind a pottery wheel and designing at Grubb Engineering + Design. I’m married to an engineer, who is just as creative as he is smart and we raised two of the most creative humans.

I love simple designs with a splash of something fun. Sometimes a little kitsch is just the right thing to break up all that white.

I’m a beginner in the world of clay, but I’m enjoying the journey it’s taking me on.
